Carr, Elizabeth, DVM, PhD with Max and Desmond - Cohort 2007
Dr. Elizabeth Carr is an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University. She graduated from Tufts University in 1989, completed an internship at Washington State and a residency in equine internal medicine and PhD at UC Davis. During her PhD studies Betsy also worked as a private practitioner in Northern California and ran a part time internal medicine consultation service. Dr. Carr moved to MSU in 1999 and completed a second residency in emergency critical care medicine (ACVECC) while working as an assistant professor at MSU. Her interests are neonatal and critical care medicine and research interests include equine sarcoids and respiratory diseases of horses. Her hobby and passion is riding and she is the owner of a Trakhener gelding named Desmond and a Thoroughbred mare (about to have a foal) named Dunala. Her husband Ken is currently studying landscape architecture and horticulture. They also own a dog named Max and a cat named Lucas (the unofficial head of the household). Dr. Carr hopes to use her new communication skills both in the clinics and in her didactic teaching.
