Letavish, Donna, LVT - Cohort 2007
Donna Letavish graduated with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Newbury College in Boston, Massachusetts in 1981. She has had numerous experiences working in veterinary practices with a focus on Emergency Medicine. In 1990, Donna met Dr. David Covitz, ACVO Diplomate, who introduced her to the wonders of veterinary ophthalmology. She has moved several times throughout her career which has allowed her to work with many different veterinary ophthalmologists. Presently, Donna is an ophthalmology technician with Michigan State University where she has been employed since 2000. In addition to her clinical role, Donna has teaching responsibilities within the Veterinary Technology program at MSU. Her most recent endeavor has been joining the Michigan Veterinary Corp and completing training exercises to become prepared should a pandemic or foreign animal disease outbreak should take place in Michigan. Donna is the mother of Jason, her 12-year-old son and has a wonderful man in her life named James. Her home also includes her 2 cats, a Siamese named Cassie, and an Abyssinian named Meg.
Donna has found the experience of becoming a member of the Bayer Animal Health Communication Project faculty to be wonderful and fulfilling. She has applied her new found skills in the workplace and in her personal life and looks forward to gaining more knowledge with additional modules and more training!
