Johnson, Cheri, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM - Cohort 2007
Dr. Johnson received her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota. After practicing in the Minneapolis area for 3 years, she went to Michigan State University and completed a residency in small animal internal medicine and received an MS degree. Dr. Johnson is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (small animal internal medicine). Since completing her residency, Dr. Johnson has been a faculty member in MSU's Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, where she practices and teaches small animal internal medicine. Currently, she is a professor, associate chair of the department, and chief of staff of the small animal division of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Dr. Johnson has been active in the ACVIM, where she has chaired the SAIM subcommittees of both the credentials committee and the ACVIM Forum program planning committee. She has been the director of the MSU's SAIM residency training program. Dr. Johnson is a member of the AVMA and the Michigan VMA. She has chaired the program planning committee of the annual Michigan Veterinary Conference, which is jointly sponsored by the Michigan VMA and the College of Veterinary Medicine. She is currently a member of the AVMA's Council on Veterinary Services. Dr. Johnson has also been secretary-treasurer of the Society for Comparative Endocrinology and is a past winner of its Daniels Award for advancing the knowledge of small animal endocrinology. Dr. Johnson's research interests are in small animal theriogenology and thyroidology.
