Kathleen A. Bonvicini - MPH, EdD, and ChloeProject Director
Dr. Kathleen Bonvicini is the Associate Director for Education and Research at the Institute for Healthcare Communication. She delivers communication workshops and provides train-the-trainer programs throughout the United States, Canada, and in Europe. In addition, she is the Project Director for the Institute's Veterinary Communication Training Project which has been supported primarily by Bayer Animal Health and Partnerships including the American Veterinary Medical Association Professional Liability Insurance Trust. She designs and leads the faculty training program that has been successfully implemented in every school of veterinary medicine in the United States and Canada and has recently been introduced into Australia. She has written and presented extensively to international audiences on the importance of communication training in both human and veterinary medicine. She has also provided clinical consultation to several veterinary practices and hospitals throughout the United States. Previous to her work with the Institute, Dr Bonvicini has fifteen years of psychiatric clinical research experience at Yale University Laboratory of Psychiatric Genetics. There she coordinated genetic family studies on anxiety disorder, alcohol and substance dependence in families. She has extensive clinical interviewing experience with highly diverse populations and has conducted training programs on interviewing techniques. Dr Bonvicini has held faculty positions with the Department of Public Health at Southern Connecticut State University and with the Department of Psychology at Albertus Magnus College for twelve years. In addition, she has held leadership and social work positions in the areas of adolescent pregnancy prevention, law enforcement, and women's health. Publications and ProceedingsBonvicini, K.
